When you think of the dentist, one image that might pop into your head is having your mouth drilled. Traditional dental drilling can be very invasive, and we agree that it’s not the most comfortable way to spend your time in the dental chair. Drilling includes heat, vibration, and pressure, all of which can be uncomfortable, loud, and a little intimidating. This is a rather deterring image of the dentist office, and it’s an image we don’t want you to have when you think about getting the dental care you need.

Dr. Aziza Askari is an expert of laser dentistry. One type of laser we use is called Waterlase®, which combines laser technology with a gentle spray of water. Well established and widely implemented, Waterlase® was approved for hard tissue procedures in 1998 and is now used in many procedures including decay removal, cavity preparation, root canals, smile design, gum and bone surgical procedures, and many others.

Because it’s minimally invasive, little to no anesthetic or sedation is needed by the majority of patients. You won’t have to get an injection or spend extra time before and after your procedure to let your sedation begin to work or wear off.
