Recently we’ve talked a lot about Dr. Aziza Askari’s new membership with the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain on this blog. We’re very excited to offer our patients this new and important realm of dental and physical treatment. As an expert of TMJ/TMD and everything that comes along with it, Dr. Askari knows that this accreditation will help her provide even more comprehensive care to her patients than she did before.

Treatment for TMJ/TMD

Often, it’s the chronic head, neck, and facial pain and intense migraine headaches rather than the damaged teeth and jaw soreness that bring TMJ patients to our Detroit-area dentist office. TMJ (temporomandibular joint) and TMD (temporomandibular dysfunction), whether as a result of injury, jaw misalignment, bad bite, bruxism (teeth grinding and jaw clenching), disease, or another cause, can be very debilitating and painful to live with. It is our hope that with comprehensive treatment, including treatment with oral appliances, muscle relaxation, jaw and bite realignment, and more, you can restore comfort, ease, and full functionality to your daily life and activities.
