cdsbrightsmileThere are a number of ways to achieve a brighter smile. If you have teeth stained with embarrassing discoloration, then you are probably curious what your options are. Instead of relying on over-the-counter solutions, seek a professional option for results that are more dramatic and last longer. Cosmetic dentistry offers a several ways to remove discoloration and brighten your smile.

Tips for a Brighter Smile

  1. Zoom! Whitening: An in-office procedure, the Zoom! system allows the dentist to remove stains in under an hour. First, a protective covering will be placed onto the gums and lips. Then a bleaching gel will be applied to the teeth. The doctor then uses a curing light to activate the gel and remove the discoloration.
  2. At-Home Teeth Whitening: You can also brighten your teeth from home. The doctor will take impressions of your teeth. Then we will create a set of trays. Each day you will fill the tray with bleaching gel and wear the aligners for about 30 minutes or possibly overnight. After a week to ten days you may notice a significantly brighter smile.
  3. Porcelain Veneers: A thin restoration made from porcelain, veneers are placed onto the front of the teeth with a powerful bonding agent. Custom-made and stain resistant, these restorations change the shape and color of the teeth. In as little as two visits your smile can be completely transformed. We often use them to mask teeth stains.
  4. Dental Bonding: Using the same material as a white filing, the bonding procedure restores the missing tooth structure of a chipped or broken tooth or mask teeth stains. The entire procedure can be completed in one visit.
  5. Porcelain Crowns: If you have permanently stained teeth or teeth suffering from multiple esthetic uses we may place a custom-made porcelain crown.
