Dr. Askari Promotes Beautiful Smiles and Quality Oral Health at Women’s Expo

Earlier in the month, I attended the 16th Annual Michigan International Women’s Show along with other members of the Comfort Dental Spa team.

Our mission: To introduce the attendees to the latest and greatest innovations in cosmetic dentistry.

As a cosmetic dentist, I want to make sure that my patients are informed about the treatments that are available at my dental practice in Farmington Hills, Michigan. I understand that committing to cosmetic dentistry is a big step. It requires an investment of your time, money, and physical appearance, and, unfortunately, it’s not a guarantee that you will love your new smile.

That’s why I spend so much time educating my patients about the various kinds of cosmetic dentistry available. I want to help you decide if teeth whitening, dental implants, porcelain veneers, cosmetic bonding, or another dental procedure will give you the smile of your dreams. Your consultation is where your smile makeover starts. At this appointment, I’ll ask you what you what you want to change about your smile and how you envision your “perfect smile” at the end of your cosmetic treatment. Then, I’ll take into account your coloring, facial structure, dental functionality and esthetic goals, and your overall appearance to design a smile makeover specifically for you.

The Women’s Show features many services and products for women of all ages, and I was proud to be a part of it to educate patients and the Novi, Michigan, area about Comfort Dental Spa and cosmetic dentistry. I also offered complimentary smile analyses and makeover consultations, as well as oral health advice and education.

I’m Dr. Aziza Askari, and I invite you to call my dental office at (248) 474-6434 to reserve your consultation appointment time.

Farmington Hills Dentist Acknowledges Patient Comfort with Laser Dentistry

Periodontal disease affects over 80 percent of adults in America. When left untreated, gum disease can lead to serious overall health problems, such as increased risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and Alzheimer’s. Dentists treat periodontal disease in various ways; surgically, non-surgically, and with lasers.

Comfort Dental Spa often treats gum disease with EZLASE lasers. Prior to lasers, periodontal treatment only managed the bacterial infection. However, when combined with micro-ultrasonic instruments, laser treatment eliminates infection.

Laser therapy reduces bacterial presence in gums, thereby decreasing inflammation. This therapy also stimulates the body’s natural healing process with its biostimulating effect.  During treatment, the tissues have time to heal and therefore can re-attach to the tooth and bring the periodontal pockets back to a near normal condition.

Periodontal disease, depending on the severity, can be treated through a series of one to four last dentistry sessions. The number of sessions will be determined at the initial consultation. Our laser-certified dental hygienists ascertain the number of sessions by the severity of the disease. Periodontal disease is measured by the number of bleeding areas around the gums and the depth of periodontal pockets. More severe cases require additional treatments.

If you suffer from red, swollen, bleeding gums, you may need periodontal laser treatment. Contact Dr. Aziza Askari, a Farmington Hills laser dentist at (248)474-6434 to schedule a consultation at Comfort Dental Spa. Dr. Askari proudly cares for patients who reside in Farmington Hills, Livonia¸ Novi, and surrounding areas.

Farmington Hills, Michigan, Dentist Gives Insight to TMJ/TMD

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the joint that connects the lower jaw to the temporal bone of the skull. It is located in front of the ears on either side of the head. There are four different chewing muscles that enable you to chew, open and close your mouth, and move your jaw forward, backward, and side to side.

Temporomandibular (TMD) disorders occur due to problems with the jaw, jaw joint, nerves, and surrounding muscles. Pain can be severe and can be intermittent or constant.  Symptoms include headaches, earaches, migraines, and jaw popping.

I’m Dr. Aziza Askari of Comfort Dental Spa in Farmington Hills, Mi, and I treat TMD. This condition may occur as a result of an injury, stress, heredity, tooth wear, teeth grinding, or tooth misalignment. If you suffer from TMD, I will assess the cause of your TMD.

Once I have diagnosed the cause, I will discuss with you ways to treat TMD. If you grind your teeth at night, I can fit you for a specially molded guard to stop the grinding. I can also change the shape of your teeth to re- align your bite.

If you are suffering from TMD, contact my Farmington Hills, Mi, dentist office at (248)474-6434 to schedule a consultation.  I care for patients who reside in Farmington Hills, Livonia, and Novi. Don’t let your teeth cause you pain.
