While porcelain veneers fall under the category of cosmetic dental procedures, they also protect damaged teeth and can eliminate the need for more extensive treatment. Patients with worn enamel, chips, cracks, or uneven teeth can obtain brighter, beautifully aligned teeth with veneers.

The wafer-thin shells of porcelain are bonded to the front of teeth to mask imperfections. Veneers have a life-like tooth appearance and are stain-resistant as well. Proper brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits enhance the longevity of veneers.

Placing veneers normally consists of two to three appointments. During the first appointment, Dr. Askari will take impressions and measurements of your teeth to fit you for your ideal smile. Teeth will be shaped, cleaned, and prepared for the veneers. Dr. Askari may fit you with temporary veneers while your custom porcelain veneers are being created.

At your second appointment, Dr. Askari will bond the veneers to your teeth. She will evaluate and adjust the newly-placed veneers to ensure the optimal fit. Once Dr. Askari is satisfied with the fit, she will instruct you on how to care for your veneers. Avoid biting or chewing on hard objects, such as nuts, ice, hard candy, as they may damage the porcelain.
