Congratulations to Detroit cosmetic and restorative dentist Dr. Aziza Askari! She was recently approved for membership with the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.

What does this mean for Comfort Dental Spa?

For Dr. Askari and the rest of the Comfort Dental Spa team, this means that we can provide our patients with a whole new level of care. In addition to the extensive cosmetic, restorative, general, and sedation dentistry services we provide, Dr. Askari has special training and experience addressing matters of craniofacial pain, including TMJ, TMD, and jaw misalignment, in the most efficient and effective way possible.

What does this mean for you, our Comfort Dental Spa patient?

For you, this membership with the AACP should give you peace of mind that you’re in experienced, capable, and caring hands during your treatment. As your dental care providers, we make it our top priority to serve you with the best and most comprehensive dental care possible, and this is just one more way that we’re striving to accomplish this goal. With help from the AACP, we will have access to new research, training materials, continuing education sessions, and tools to help us help you better.

What is craniofacial pain?

Craniofacial pain mainly affects the head, neck, and face, which can make daily activities difficult and uncomfortable to perform. Specific symptoms often include recurring and painful headaches that occasionally cause visual disorders, and also earaches and/or ringing in the ears, feeling of fullness in the ears, back and neck tension aches, facial muscle fatigue, pain in temples and forehead, carpel tunnel syndrome, chronic cracking and popping in the neck. Possible causes of this discomfort include injury, malocclusion of the teeth, stress, bruxism (grinding and clenching of the teeth), ill-fitting dental prosthetics and orthodontics, and diseases of the bone or joints.

If the above symptoms sound familiar, it’s possible that you may suffer from TMJ (temporomandibular joint) dysfunction. Dr. Askari invites you to call Comfort Dental Spa, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, at (248) 474-6434 to reserve an appointment.
