This past spring, Dr. Aziza Askari, your Farmington Hills dentist, was please to speak on the connection between dental and overall health at the 2013 Women’s Expo. Her seminar entitled Your Mouth/Your Body was presented at the event which took place at Schoolcraft College’s Livonia campus. Dr. Askari was honored to receive a standing ovation from the receptive audience. To give back more to the women of our community, Comfort Dental Spa sponsored a contest where one lucky winner would receive an iPad. We are please to announce the winner of the iPad was new patient: Lynn Boertje.

Wome’s Expo Recap
At the Women’s Expo, Dr. Askari covered topics of oral-systemic health such as the link between gum disease and life threatening conditions like coronary artery disease, strokes, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, cancer, pre-term labor, arthritis, and more. She also discussed the prevalence of oral HPV in oral cancer cases. Your Farmington Hills dentist stressed that regular preventive exams, including OralDNA testing, can greatly reduce the risk of oral malignancies. We are still hearing from new patients that discovered us at the Women’s Expo and we look forward to meeting many more of you, and helping you have the best possible oral and overall health.
